Good day and welcome to another episode of Points of View. This afternoon, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will have her “State of the Nation Address (SONA)”. Of course, many Filipinos are waiting for what she will say later in front of millions and millions of Filipinos. Rallies are also expected, as well as those who will oppose to whatever she will say.

“In your own opinion, how well did the Philippines go for the last year?”

Actually, as an ordinary Filipino citizen, it’s hard for me to generalize into one word or sentence the current state of the Philippines. Of course, we really have to consider so many things. But I want to be fair enough. Honestly speaking, I can see some improvement on our country. I did not vote for Gloria in the last presidential elections but I can see that she’s doing her best as the president of our country, not to mention that there are really some government officials who are taking advantage of their powers. You know what I mean. But of course, we all know that life here in our country seems to be harder as years pass by. So it’s really hard to say that our country is already in a good condition because there are still a lot of Filipinos who are suffering from poverty.
